I was on the Tahiti Aggressor 3/18-3/26. It was one of their last trips in the Tuamotus. They are moving next month to the Society Islands next month. We dove the four atolls of Fakarava, Toau, Apataki & Rangiroa. As usual, the boat and crew were excellent. The boat is virtually identical to the Palau Aggressor.
Diving was good, not excellent. There were two types of dives, pass dives and corner dives. The pass dives are only done during incoming tides which are not always predictable. The pass dives were fun. Had ripping current on a few dives. It was so strong it tore my camera off my arm and it flew away before I realized it. : (
Tahiti has very healthy hard corals but no soft coral. Lots and lots of small sharks on every dive. The sharks are very curious of divers so you can get some great pics. Also, we saw a lot of mantas which again we were able to get fairly close to. There were an abundance of reef fish, but no where near the diversity you would find in indo or micronesia.
Let me know if I can answer any questions.
