Sorry but No, not Parkerized it's Cerakote... So please get your assumptions correct...
and since I entered the Navy and began diving in 1969, retired in '93 I'd say I qualify for both of your descriptions of Flower Power Hippy Navy Diver!
I additionally served 4 years in the US Army with the 11th Armored Cav.
I do enjoy dressing up on Veterans Day re-living and celebrating what I feel was the best part of my life.
So for ScubaPro Kate... Is the MK17/G260 T any smoother, slicker, better, faster or other assorted descriptions over the standard 17/260.
A simple, not really, is fine... but I do like the swivel !
Oh and I've DELETED the ISLANDHEART Profile so as not to have any Sock Puppets.
Cerakote is some new fangled ceramic coating. Commercial stuff. I wonder if it is currently used in any military applications. Possibly, but it certainly was not in use when I was in the military. Everything was Parkerized back then, even things that really shouldn't have been.
I'm very happy for you that you like to dress up on Vereran's day. I have a few old stiff moth-eaten bits of stuff from my days in uniform. I still use my fatigue jacket because it has my name on it, and it comes in handy if I forget. Age, you know. I wish I could find my short brim boonie. It's somewhere.
On Veteran's Day I wear my Vietnam Vets Against The War jacket. Just to let people know that there were tens of thousands of us who resisted that miserable criminal adventure.
You should try to develop a sense of humor. Stop taking things so seriously. You're back in the world. Enjoy.
