Has anyone used a Tachyon Micro HD? What are the positives and negatives? My interest would be to use this in the Keys in water above about 60', probably mask mounted. I have no experience, this would be my first video cam, so I am looking for something simple.

Funny, I just logged on to ask the same thing.
There is a vid of a tech dive at mead to 160 with one...not bad. There are others out there, but they seem to have improper mount (to mask strap) shaking with passing bubbles.
I don't expect a whole lot of quality for the price, as long as it holds up. I am giving up on hand helds .. pita.
I just want something to document what I see.

Any suggestions on how to mount this to something other then a mask strap? I was thinking I could add a small pocket on the hood that would hold it at the top of my head. Maybe cut two sets of parallel holes in the hood to run two pieces of velcro through to secure it.

This is my first video camera so I have nothing to compare it to but I did use it once in shallow water with poor visibility. It was not great but it did good enough for my needs as I intend to use this diving in clear, shallow water in the Keys so I am expecting much better results there. Does anyone know about apps that will allow me to edit on an ipad?

There is a two piece adapter set for ipad that will allow you to plug in either a cable from a camera or to take the SD card out of the camera and download from the card directly onto the ipad. This is not an after market produce, this adapter set is made by Apple.
