As PADi diver I use DSAT RDP Or Wheel .
My Question is what tables does other dive organisations like SSI, BSAC, NAUI, GUE use ?

my brother is Naui - not positive but I think they also use a wheel. I also think that each organization's dive table is based on one the 3 different decompression models. Spencer Limits EE washout, Spencer limits 60 washout, Buhlmann limits EE washout.

Most US based agencies use the US Navy tables (PADI use to use them as well). Several agencies have modified them by shortening the NDLs. They are more conservative than the PADI tables. BSAC has their own tables. NAUI actually has two sets of tables, one is a version of the US Navy tables and the other a development of their own. The Wheel is a version of PADI's RDP.

PADI's tables have shorter NDL's but they also give you more credit for surface intervals making them more liberal after mutliple dives. I find this odd considering the Navy tables were designed for young men in much better shape than the general population.

NAUI actually has three tables options. The tried and true tables based on US Navy, as Walter stated, is the most common. There is also a Dive Time Calculator, based on the same time and depth profiles, but organized in a "wheel" format. The third set of tables use the RGBM formulae.

I don't own a set of PADI tables but I thought it was 60' for 51 min whereas the Navy table was 60 for 60 min (I think, don't have one on me). Of course after a 1 hour surface interval I believe PADI gives more time than Navy.

Walter:
Say it's not so, Mike. NAUI has a wheel....aaaggggg......LOL
Too funny huh?! Its not a bad tool, but isn't as comprehensive as the plain ol tables. You can't plan backwards to establish the SIT need if you know the intended profiles for two repetitive dives. Because of that, I've never actually seen anybody teach with them.

I'll let you know if they start thinking about tables resembling a mini-calculator! (Next up: Dive Planning Without Thinking!)

I have a PADI Wheel for 'sale'....used only in my DM course. ;)
