I just purchased a Canon Rebel EOS t2i/550D with the 18mm - 5mm lens kit

Looking for a wide-angle lens and a macro lens

I have a tendency to take more macro photos, but want to start shooting more wide-angle

Any recommendations?

For wide angle either the Tokina 10-17 fisheye or the 11-16 rectilinear. Both will need a dome port. For macro start with the 60 macro from either canon or Tamron. Both are quite nice and will get you to 1:1.

I have a T2i in a Nauticam housing with Canon 60mm macro and Tokina 10-17 fisheye (and Canon 100mm IS macro as well). One big potential advantage of the 10-17 FE over the 11-16 rectilinear is that the 10-17 will work great in the 100mm 'mini' domes but the 11-16 will not.

+1 for Tokina 10-17 and Canon 60. Great lens although there is a bit of a learning curve with the wide angle

I've got the Canon 60mm on my T1i, and if it's half as good as it is above water, I'm going to love it.

+1 on the EF-S 60mm and the Tokina 10-17. Have been using them extensively above water for a few months and will finally get wet while using them soon. I use them on a T2i as well.

Thanks everyone for the information sounds like everyone has the same opinion about both the macro and wid-angel lenses and that doesn't happen too often.

I'm going to the keys for mini lobster season and will hopefully get at least one the lenses before then

Thanks again

If you do get one of the lenses, make sure to post some photos in this thread for us.'
