I have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the Symbios. Just saw this picture on Instagram yesterday. I really hope she is 5'1" and 95 pounds otherwise it looks bigger than I was expecting.

Yeah it is hanging from her neck, chestmounts used to do that and wearing all that gear
she does not look small, I sure she must have won some husband carrying competitions

What's magnificent is the independent open circuit gear you can wear with these things

The unit looks long

you can get a short one, with just a harness

What is Andrew Goring building these days

Would off board O2 make for a much smaller unit?
Seems like it would integrate with mixed teams much easier than the JJ based on them both in GUE-style twinsets.

They're already off board but not really offbard but incorporated into these units

Unlike off board slung elsewhere indepedently and using QC6 connectors

It's long, wonder what's in there

Stumbled across a fairly long overview here, with a ton of pics and some underwater video as well.

Notable stuff (for me anyway):
  • Custom-looking reg for the O2 bottle with 3 hoses coming off (assume MAV, solenoid, HP to transmitter?). Would make it a little more annoying to BM the O2 cylinder with 3 hoses.
  • Targeting 4Q25 launch

The other thing I realize, looking at the images: everyone is diving it with a necklaced 2nd stage, as well as the long hose. Don’t know if that perhaps means that they’ve nixed the fancy integrated-BOV double-hose reg option?
