Greetings. I'm looking to replace my A620 because I seriously abused it for the last three years. Since I started diving, I haven't done much underwater photography, so I haven't purchased a case for it. I just saw the SX10IS at a big box store, but noticed it doesn't have an underwater setting like the A620. So, will the SX10 work well? Ikelite makes a case for it, but since I'm a newbie, I have no clue what the underwater setting on the A620 does, and how the lack of it will affect the SX10. Can anyone please explain that to me? Has anyone tried the SX10 on a dive trip? How well does the A620 work underwater? I could buy a case for it, if it will give me decent images underwater. Since it's been abused, I won't be upset if the housing for the A620 leaks and the camera gets ruined. I've gotten my value out of that little camera. I'm sure the SX10 would be great on land and meet all of my needs, but it would be nice if it worked well underwater. Right now I'd like to start with a basic rig as I learn about underwater photography. Any information and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Scott. Now I understand the function of the settings.

the underwater setting tries to adjust the colors of your underwater photos when you don't use a strobe or the internal flash.

manual white balance will do the job better, and the Canon SX10 has that, so you will be in good shape.

the canon A620 also has MWB.
