has anyone taken swimming lessons recently. I mean I definatley know how to swim but was reading the dir book and it suggested a few coaching sessions and I thought that was a really good idea.

I have been in water all my life but never really focused on technique and would be interested in learn how to swim more effeciently. My main goal woould be to improve how long I can swim rather than how fast.

prolly sounds crazy but anyone know a good way to approach this ?

I took some swim lessons a couple of years ago so I could become a more efficient swimmer. I went from being a less than average swimmer to being able to swim a mile free-style. It is well worth the time and effort.

I took a swimming class at my college and was surpised to find out just how poorly I swam. I went from litterally seeing spots after having to swim 4 lengths of the pool to swimming 16 lengths without too much difficulty.

One thing my instructor said was that once you had decent technique, you would be able to swim the same way you walk... You wouldn't necesarily be going too fast, but you could do it for a long time.

Thanks SP ! This look like what I am looking for. Much appreciated.

I've been thinking about taking swimming lessons at my local YMCA but have been putting it off. Looks like it is a good idea.
