Hello Scuba Board divers!
My father has been a member of this site for a couple years. When diving together of course we pair up a buddies since we are father and son. Recently I was watching a television show on the history channel called Ax Men. It's a show about men logging. However, what caught my attention was the segments about the "swamp loggers" where no rules apply. I was shocked how this one father and son duo scuba dived. Using a crude system of 15 min interval dives in murky gator invested water in the hunt of sunken logs. Amongst the constant assualt of curse words apon the son I'm surprised they are able to be dive buddies. When it comes to dive buddies everyone knows it's better to have one then be alone. This is found to be true in an assortment of examples. I will choose to focus on the non-negative ones. For example, if your ever in the situation when your on a dive trip and his or her dive master is attractive. When diving one tends to get snotty causing for unwanted "booger(s)" around the nose or face. As a dive buddy and if you want to be a "good" dive buddy it is your job to inform your partner that he has something on his face, this is a way of looking out. If your able to be comfortable with your dive buddy on that level you will be able to have a stronger relationship in the water. That's why I was surprised how these mars/swamp/bog loggers are able to proceed without serious injury or worse fatalities. There seems to be no standard job training manual when it comes to swamp logging. Now, I may be late, this topic may have already been talked about on scuba board. However, I wanted to hear some feedback on this and look forward to more new threads in the future.

Welcome to the Board!

There has been a long going thread about this topic.

Frankly I believe consensus is it is just a matter of time before one or both end up injured or dead.

Also, there are a lot of folks out there who prefer to dive alone than with a buddy. There is a whole forum designated for Solo Divers.

There are a lot of different folks here. Welcome and enjoy!
