In May this year, I've sent in my stinger to get its first battery change from the same dive shop I purchased my stinger. After the battery was changed, I wanted to reset the date and time of my dive computer as the time and date were not accurate. I pushed the mode button and it immediately went into the stopwatch mode and I was not able to exit that mode regardless of which button i pushed.

I lodged a complaint to the dive shop and they offered to check what is wrong with my dive computer. A few weeks later, I was called to pick up my dive computer and was told that they have rectify the problem but it was never disclosed to me what the problem was. To ensure that the problem has indeed been rectified, i pushed the mode button again just to check and it immediately went into the stopwatch mode again. That was in June. Today, I was informed by the diveshop assistant that the module is faulty and it will cost approx USD250 to replace it and the warranty period for the module change is 2-3 mths.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my dive computer? Because at this point, I lost trust in their ability to fix my stinger after they claimed that my dive computer is fixed and I am also not sure if the module is the cause my stinger is locked in the stopwatch mode. Additionally, my dive computer was working very well until the battery change. My Stinger is barely 3 years old with less than 50 dives. Is it worth it to get it fixed?

Hi, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your Stinger. if you're unsure I suggest using the online service request to have your device checked. Hard to tell what's wrong without an actual examination... br, Hendrik

Love the Stinger. I personally have owned, used and change the battery several times to one for more tan 10 years now. But paying $ 250 for a module does not make sense. For that money you can buy an used with stainless steel bracelet on ebay. And maybe even the full titanium model if you are a bit lucky.
