I am looking at getting an SK7 Compass. I cant get it mounted to my consol and I already have a wrist mount computer. I was thinking of getting the Retractor Version on Leisurepro.

Has anyone bought this specific one and tried it? How far does the retractor extend? How convient is it? Is it easy to hold in your hand? Thanks.

I can't speak to the retractor itself, but the compass itself is great. Good build quality, easy to read etc.

i use that compass and the retractor extends over 2 feet which is the length of my arm fully extended. I find it very easy to use. I have it attached to my BC and yes, it is easy to hold in your hand.

I'm using the wrist mounted version. And am attaching it to BC using a retractor. Works well.

both my wife and I have the retractor version on our BC's. Works great. We have them mounted high on the chest so they don't dangle on the bottom, unless you are really really close. If you doing any wreck/cave, etc. make sure you switch to your wrist compass.

It retracts far enough to hold in the correct two hand grip with elbows in to set direction. The double bezel makes out and back settings (reciprocal) an breeze. There is no lock on the retractor but it's not so stiff that you can't hold it.

The compass it itself is great as it quickly finds the direction but doesn't wobble. Sounds funny but look at others. They are either sluggish to turn or move so quickly as to make following a course almost impossible
