Hi..

Just wondering if anyone else that dives this computer has had problems with it... after having the battery changed??

The computer I'm diving was dove for nearly a year on the initial battery and it worked just fine. I had the battery changed in mid January of this year... and have had nothing but problems since... wondering if anyone else has experienced any issues.. and if so what types of thing the computer did?!

thanks..

Hmmm... I have this computer and if I'm reading the display correctly, the battery is just about dead after less than a year. I bought it last year in May and dove with it only 5 times. I've got my next trip planned for May again and I expect that I'll be using this computer. I got the computer out a week or so ago to review some things and found that the battery is showing only one bar of life I think. I'm expecting I'll have to change the battery by the time I take it to the water again.

Did you know there are sites on line with photots and descriptions of how you can replace the battery yourself? It's really not a big deal. The sites I've seen include complete parts lists for everything you might need, which isn't much as I recall. It's not like your shop has a magic wand or something. IIRC, the only tricky part was making sure you placed the battery in the correct orientation for polarity.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey Snowbear & Steve...
Thanks to both of you for responding to my post :)

I took the computer apart earlier this morning... and it doesn't appear to be flooding... no visible water or corrosion in the battery and computer circuit area... so it's definitely going back to the shop today.

I didn't know that there was a site online that went through the steps of changing your own battery.. hmm, perhaps I'll have to check it out!! Although... I think I may just stick to having the LDS do it.. that way.. when things like this happen... i can go back and complain... and get it repaired free of charge... if i do it myself.... no warranty coverage!!

thanks again..

Would you happen to remember any of the the Web site addresses for the battery change-out?

Here's one

I found this one googling "sunto favor battery replace". I think there may be others out there, too, but I belive this is the one I was referring to earlier. It sure looks familiar. In any case, it's got good pictures showing the disassembly steps.
