Suunto Dive Manager Software

Having trouble getting my new laptop to download all my dives using teh Suunto Dive Manager Software. It gets part way in and then the whole computer freezes up. I can't even do control alt delete to get out of the program. I know it has something to do with my laptop which is fairly new and running Windows 7. I used the software to download the dives to an older computer and in went in just fine. Any ideas about where to start looking to solve the problem?

You might try uninstalling dive manager and reinstalling it either as administrator, or run it in compatibility mode as XP SP3. I'm running DM on a win7 pc and it works fine, as long as the dive computer figures out it's attached...

Try going to the device manger and updating the USB drivers and make sure they are not conflicting with another device.

I dont think it is your new laptop, I also use a win 7 laptop and have had the same issue.
But i have 6 different PC's with XP home, XP pro, Vista, Win7. and all have had the same problem at times. I think when you tried it on the old PC you were lucky to get a good contact.
What i have found is that the contacts on the dive computer get dirty and this causes the download to fail, just clean your contacts with isopropelene(spelling) and give the connection a wiggle when you plug it in and all will be good!!!!

P.S. I am not looking forward to when we get several hundred dives on the comp it will take forever to download.
