Hey all.I took my cobra diving recently. It appeared to work alright but continued to keep logging dive time even out of the water. Then when reattached to a tank it reads 8000 psi. Any idea why those things would happen? Thanks.

...I'd say it's broken, hopefullu it's still under warranty...regardless it needs to be repaired/replaced.

It's so weird. It was working perfectly fine very recently. I had forgotten to bring it with me before the trip so I had to have it mailed. Wonder if it was damaged in transit.

So it was tested just prior to shipping.
What model of cobra is it?
What does it read when off the tank?
Does the battery indicate a full charge?

Assuming it was well packed to prevent normal handling shock, maybe the method they used to inspect the box contents caused the damage. For example: let say they thought it was an IED, and they hit it with a sonic canon to be sure it wasn't... this would likely rupture the pressure transducer. Hopefully its under warranty because a new module is $600!
