I am posting this question for my dive buddy. We both have Suunto Cobra's working fine, no issues there. The problem I'm querrying about is for my buddy. When we download the dive data from the Suunto dive computer to the computer hard drive, it only downloads 120 dives, yet the Suunto computer shows 160. I know that if the s/i is less than 5 min it will show 2 dives as one dive, not a sequence 1-2-3 etc. We're stumped. Appreciate any feedback on this from anyone. The next step we are going to do is to uninstall the program and re-install it. Thanks so much!!

Is it timing out, or just not downloading? Are the contacts on both the back of the computer and the download cable clean? I take a small grinding tool, and with my hands, rub the tips to make sure any corrosion or oxidation is roughed up, and then wet (I lick) one set of terminals before plugging them together.

The dive computer shows 161 dives, yet the hard drive with the Suunto progarm only shows 120 dives. (During this situation I brought my dive buddies computer home with me and have subsequently caused another problem, so I'm going to post a new thread) Thanks for your reply!

This is interesting. I'm trying to help a buddy with a Suunto Cobra. We have the same computer. My computer shows 99 dives, yet 37 are missing when I download to Suunto program on hard drive. It doesn't download from Sept 2, 2008 to August 11, 2009. This is the same problem my buddy has. Why aren't ALL of the dives downloading from the Suunto dive computer to our Suunto program on the hard drive. I saw my buddy's computer program and mine as well. On the Suunto history page once I have downloaded all the dives, it does show 99. I can email that word document to any of you if that would help solve the program problem. For some reason the computer hard drive doesn't want to go back and recognize earlier dives. I upgraded to version 3.0 of Suunto on my hard drive, that shouldn't make a difference. Ok. I'm frustrated. Glad my weakness is above water and not below.:depressed:

the memory is limited, so the oldest dives datas are erased.
on the Suunto, you have the number of dives, but no data
in this case, i'm pretty sure there is nothing to download.

DiuboisP I did see that due to the sampling rate of "every ten seconds" that it does take up more memory on the dive computer, so I did change the sampling rate to every 20 seconds. I do beleive this is the answer to the problem. I did find it rather annoying to wait for it to download 90 dives when all I wanted was the most recent one. And, if the Suunto has the capability to count up to 999 dives before resetting itself, it would reason that we would not want to wait for 998 of those to load onto the home computer before selecting dive 999 to write up the profile. Thanks to everyone who has contributed information to this thread!! You're important buddies above water too!!
