I hope I posted this in the right spot and I apologize for not properly introducing myself. Me and my wife are in the middle of vacation and I've had issues my last 4 dives.
I use a Suunto Cobra 3 and the wife has a Cobra. I download all the profiles to Suunto Dive Manager 3.

The previous days 1st dive do not show this issue.
The previous days 2nd dive shows me approximately 4 times go to 4 feet, then back to depth. I'm right beside the wife on our safety stop and her computer did not reflect this.
My last 2 dives show normal operations on the first dive, then upon doing our safety stop on the 2nd dive, the same thing happens, it show me at depth, then the Cobra 3 shows me at 4 feet, then immediately back to depth. It jumps back and forth 4 times again. I did not notice this on the computer while doing the safety stop, only after I looked at the down loaded profile.
I also checked the wife's profile after I downloaded her computer. Her's does not reflect this anomaly, we were also side by side on the safety stop.

Anybody have any ideas on this? I would hate to miss the rest of my diving trip because my computer is going out. This is a new unit with approximately 15-20 dives on it.
I also did the warm water treatment last night to make sure I didn't have any salt deposit on the sensor, I unfortunately will not be diving today since the wife wants to shop....LOL, but this is a plus and hopefully gives somebody time to help me out. I will even send the profiles to somebody if you can tell me how to do it.

Again, sorry for not properly introducing myself, Just a little concerned about this issue and need some help.

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated.

My first thought is a low battery. I know you said it is a new (to you) unit with a small number of dives. The question is, when was the manufacture date? It may have been on the shelf for a couple of years.

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed the battery when I got here just to be safe. So it has a what appears to be a new battery in it. I have not gotten anything other than battery ok since I replaced the battery on Saturday. Dives were Sunday and yesterday.
The first four of my serial number are 2400xxx. Not sure if this will help with knowing the manufacturers date.

I've had 2 suuntos (a mosquito and a cobra 2) that did this - "self diving" - if its still under warranty you're in luck - if not - its junk.

lets first remember that you can still dive without the computer. so no need to cancel any dive plans. computers are nice to have but certainly not required.
i would check the battery install. pull it out and check to make sure you did nothing wrong. make sure no water got into the unit. check the oring really good.
i would then do another dive if the battery and insides are ok. and keep a really good eye on the display. especially the depth while at the safety stop. see if the depth reading jumps all around or stays consistant. if the reading stays consistant then the unit is probably ok and it may be a software issue regarding the downloading of profiles. but if the display does jump around then the computer is faulty. hopefully you can have it repaired or replaced under warranty if that is the case.

the wife wants to shop....

For a new dive computer for you? ;)

I had planned on going to Tables if I couldn't figure it out. Sorry for spazing a little. I don't have to worry about this stuff when diving commercially, I just do my dive and get in the chamber. All table are run by the radio operator or diver supervisor.
Just didn't expect this from a brand new computer. The wife's computer is almost 10 yrs. old and still rolling strong.
Re-Check battery.. Check
O-ring.....Check
Dry no Water....Check

When this issue showed up I did not notice it while diving. The depth reading was very consistent, no erratic display or jumping around. It only showed up after I downloaded the data to the Dive Manager software. In fact on the 4 dives, me and the wife were sided by side on our safety stops and I had both computers in my hand watching them for the both of us.

Man, don't I wish.....:D It was more t-shirts and such.

A dive computer is still a computer. When any computer acts up, reboot it. I dive with both the Cobra 3 and Vyper Air for the redundancy and the uniformity of the interface. Long story short, both of them went haywire when I fired them up while aboard a boat en route to a wreck. I had used/tested both in a pool just days earlier without incident.

To reboot the dive computer, remove and reinstall the battery (a fresh battery -- if you are certain it's fresh -- never hurts). This is not in the manual but it worked for both computers. Remember to reset the date, time and compass. Good luck!

Check where the pressure sensor on it is. Maybe something is stuck in the sensor. A little crud could prevent it from functioning properly at shallower depths
