Does it mean a scuba tank can be fitted with a medical oxygen valve; and a medical oxygen tank can be fitted with a scuba valve ?
Is this correct ?
I thought there were implementations to avoid mixing uses...

No it is not correct, If you read the scuba tank specifications you will see 3/4-14 MPSM is the standard thread and other thread sizes are available on request. So no they are not interchangeable, the tank has to have been made for .750-16 UNF
