Everybody's gone surfin, surfin USA. It did seem like everybody went to Surf Expo in Orlando recently. Surf legends, wake board champions, almost 2000 vendors, way more attendees, and a few bikini models added to the mix. View attachment 50435 It was FUN FUN FUN. There was gear, gear and more gear not to mention stuff to wear or not wear while having fun in the SUN. Surf Boards, wake boards, boats to pull the wake boarders, kite surfers, ocean surfers, even some Wet & Wild surfers probably. And Aaron Chang, world famous surf photographer, was willing to hang for a bit. View attachment 50434 You may not know Aaron’s name but the known names in surfing have become famous in part because of his photographs of them in action often taken right before he swims for his life or ducks under quietly.

But Pete, Greg of Scuba Radio and I were on a mission. And the mission was to find clothes for you diver babes to wear when you are NOT below the water. View attachment 50434 So we discovered and in some cases uncovered a couple of ideas we really liked, and hoped you diver chicks would also. The Chik T-shirt line turned out to be pretty cool line. View attachment 50436 This is a family who surfs together and works their booth together. View attachment 50438

There were several apparel makers we spent sometime with to find out more about their lines and designs. View attachment 50432. And it was good. Pete liked it, I liked it. And the model who showed us how it works was so gracious. To us it seemed like an item many women would like to know more about. View attachment 50433. So after unwrapping the “Saress” we moved on.
View attachment 50439 Well we did try to give equal time to some of the bikini girls, you know just to be fair. :eyebrow: .

And going into the show on the last day Pete in his ever observant way(Mr. Freaking Megaladon himself- I'm so jealous) suggests hey let's look over there. And it turns out to be one of our best discoveries. Designs By Dawn Bacchus-Horan caught our eye and our imaginations. View attachment 50440We spent some time at her booth discussing her designs as well as where they can be found. Turns out Dawn and her entourage can be found in Jupiter, Fl where they are based or down in the Antillies where her clientele vacation. Her line of clothes is very upscale, beautifully designed, and rightfully sold in elite shops "down in the islands". View attachment 50437
So overall there was a lot to see. The overlap of our two industries is fairly obvious. And in some of my conversations I asked the wake-kite-skate-surf board dudes and dudettes if they dove and why or why not. And those answers are another whole conversation.

Is this event over? You ended with come join us, but where (location) and when (dates). Is this an annual event?
