My wife who uses support hose for varicose veins did did a DIU demo dive yesterday and is on her way to diving dry.

She has not worn the support hose when diving wet but wondered if would be a good or bad thing to do so when diving dry. I drew a blank so figured I'd ask.

Thanks,
Pete

Interesting question.

Just thinking about the physics:

It seems a wetsuit would apply pressure to the legs much like support hose.
Submersion, whether in no suit, wet suit, or dry suit would also apply pressure to the legs.
A dry suit would not apply pressure to the legs when out of the water, but a wetsuit would.

So it seems to me the only potential issue would be the period of time she spends out of support hose until she is either in the water or in a wetsuit.

I see no harm in wearing support hose while diving dry, and it could help.
