The Sunray 2000s, which I now use, have 3 power settings of 2000, 1000, and 500. The 1000s had settings of 1000, 500, and 250. I find that the 2000 lumen setting is far too bright for many medium shots and all close ups. I have a set of perfectly good L & M HID lights whose lumen setting was 997 just sitting in a drawer unused. When I did use them I was very happy with them and had no complaints. I was just given the 2000s for a review and that is the only reason I switched. You should evaluate the type of filming you will be doing. More power is not the only factor. Heck, if someone can use a good set of HIDs, give me a PM

I think Light and motion arnt making the sunrays any more. Their Video lights are not the Sola 1200's and a sola 4000 is coming out in march or so I belive. I have 2 of their Sola 1200 and they are bright. The only thing I have shot with them so far were a few cave dives a few weeks ago. They worked good in the total darkness. Here is a link of one of the videos I shot.
Orange Grove Sink cave dive with 2 sola 1200's
