I have tried mine within confined pool that is less than 1.2 metres, it is rather difficult to switch on the backlighting. But when I went deeper than it there is no problem.

Did your problem encountered on deeper water?

Yup, I know that I have experienced this problem between the range of 5-15m (16-50 feet, give or take).
