Like Cap_Bert, I suddenly found myself without a partner. Unfortunately, MY dive trip was scheduled for Sunday, otherwise it would be perfect. So... is anyone interested in a shore dive at Cape Ann on Sunday 8/27?

I ended up taking afternoon Cape Ann Charters boat to Kettle Island and "The Castle" (in front of Hammond Castle museum). Not very exciting, and terrible luck with lobsters -- one keeper, while Andrea got 13 (!). Toward the end of second dive weather got fairly rough, and by the time we got back to the dock the rain was pouring. Curiously, I was warm -- almost too warm, -- at 30' at Kettle Island, but freezing at 40' at The Castle. I wouldn't think 10' would make that much of a difference?

BTW, at the end of the second dive I could tell the waves were bad and did not want to do a free ascent, but was nowhere near the anchorline. I attached my jonline to a handy lobster buoy line, and ascended along that. Screw the "stay away from traps" rule.
