I'm a Fish!
Today was a spectacular day at Gerstle cove. Steve and I met Renpirate and his buddy, Ericson, there for a couple of dives.
There was no wind and no swell in the cove, not even an ankle slapper.
All of us got some fish, and Steve and I even found a spot with some nice size scallops. ;)
We went way out of the cove for both dives. The first dive Renpirate and Ericson went after us by a few minutes, and on the second dive we all went out as a group out of the cove and south. This is where Steve and I finally saw some Lings worth a shot.
After our incredible day of diving we wanted someone to take some photos of us with my camera. We asked an old lady but she seemed a little intimidated by the whole scene. She went and got her son who happened to be a professional photographer. He even had a light reflector hoop with him!
here are some shots of our day.

Life is good up on the (real) North Coast.

Eric,

This is Ericson, aka, Scubajunkee. I just got home and showed my catch to my family--they're totally stoked about the big ling! The two lings & rockfish barely fit in our freezer. Thanks for the great pictures, I'll add it to my collection. I'm glad I got to meet ya and look forward to diving with you again.

Your new bud,

Ericson

P.S.: Here's a link to all of my pictures: http://photos.yahoo.com/scubajunkee. Enjoy!

Hey Scubajunkee,
Love all the picks!
I'm going to have to do the yahoo thing, that looks like the way to go.
Let's go out and do more diving!

Take care,

ZKY

ZKY,

It was great to finally dive with you guys. I'm looking forward to next weekend. Let's touch bases this week.

i have done a couple of dives with erickson and he is a good person and a great group leader, and diver, we did the metridian fields and a night dive at break water

You guys sure got some nice lings yesterday...wish I had seen a few myself but my only tank dive was inside the reserve.

ZKY - I would have introduced myself if I had known it was you, after seeing the pics of your dive boat, I definitely want to make your aquaintance...lol, at least I have you beat in the white legs division!!!

Hey Ericson, did you lose your hat? We found one on the rocks that had some unpronouncable name on it from Hawaii. Let me know if you know who's it is?

Brian,

I got lucky with the two lings. I caught both when I was on my way back to shore, and well outside the reserve. I'd like to join you guys for the next camping trip--keep me posted. I'm not sure who's hat you found but it's not mine.

Ericson
