Hey SoCal folks,

I've got a research diving internship at Scripps Institute this summer between June & August and I'm casting about for a place to stay. It's a longshot (and only kind of diving related) but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Does anyone happen to have (or know of) any kind of room / garage / hovel / sublet for rent during that period? My range probably tops out around $700/month, which I hope is reasonable for the area. If it's close to SIO/UCSD that'd be fantastic, but I'm not too picky (I'd love to ride my bike to work, but won't complain if I can't). Reply or PM me if you happen to know of anything or want to berate me for abuse of the forum.

And Thanks!

$700 a month in La Jolla? I could put you in a nice cardboard box on Girard Ave if you come up with a little more cash and your credit report is good.

Have you discussed this issue with your employer? Also, check with the housing office at UCSD and search craigslist. Good luck.

Do you know of one? ;) Like I said, I'm not looking for a whole place, just somewhere to hang my hat for three months. I grew up in Santa Cruz and lived in SF for six years, so I'm no stranger to ridiculous housing prices.
