Hello and welcome to a multi-day tour of North Sulawesi

We start from the city of Manado and find ourselves in a jungle-like landscape dominated by plants and trees.
Tourism on the mainland is still in its beginning as most visitors jump directly to one of the offshore diving resorts. Together with our local guide we enjoy an authentic trip through the area. One of our first stops is the area of Lake Tonado. The population has settled around this freshwater lake and we get our first impressions of life and handcrafts in this area. North Sulawesi is full of geo-thermal activities. Our guide takes us first to a natural hot spring. We then climb a slope where there is steam and smoke coming from various openings. We end up at a lake where the area's green electricity is produced by using geo-thermal energy.
The Tangoko National Park covers a specific part of the northern landscape and offers the animals an undisturbed habitat.
The park is well known for it`s monkey population. With a bit of luck you can see also the tiny tarsiers at the beginning of the night.
At the end of our trip we climb the volcano Mt. Mahawu. From the crater rim we once again enjoy a spectacular view over the area and discover even more smoking volcanoes on the horizon.

Scuba Diving in Bangka

The island is located at the northern tip of Sulawesi and can only be reached by boat transfer.
In addition to a handful of locals, there are a few exclusive diving resorts on this largely natural and green island.
The dive sites combine a kind of Best of Indonesia. There are colorful corals, little critters, big swarms and crystal clear water.
Basically, the diving grounds seperate on the west and east coast. The first offers a more colorful underwater world - while the second consists more of rocks, stone walls and deep blue.
We use the surface break again to take a look over the island.

I am planning my next trip to this place. Too sleepy to watch the video now, but how much does a local guide cost per day?

Excellent videos. Can you comment on the muck diving opportunities in North Sulawesi?
The place for muck diving is „lembeh strait“ they offer daytrips from Bangka - but i‘m not that interested in muck diving and didn‘t go.
Bangka itself is a little mix up of everything.
