Hi,

My husband and I are going back to Cozumel (after a year and a half layoff - don't go to Med school and grad school and try to dive every year!) in February. We always stay at Suites Bahia downtown - no frills, but very comfy, friendly, and close to everything. I've emailed them about 6 times in the last 3 months about setting reservations, but have not received a reply back, after the email they sent, saying they'd get back to me. I know that they are a sister hotel to Casa Mexicana. Has anyone had any troubles/luck booking with either place online recently? Is there any reason to worry that they haven't gotten back to me? Any advice? Man, I cannot wait to get back in the water!!!

Thanks so much,

DenverDiverErin (who now live in St. Louis for post-doc (me) and residency (husband)at Washington University School of medicine)

I work with both hotels on a regular basis. hey are very busy so sometimes it does take several days for her to get back to me...but she always does. Try again....but they are already full for several dates.

I've had similar problems with Casa Mexicana and email reservations. If they weren't such a great hotel they would not be worth the hassle.

The good news is that Orbitz had better rates for Casa Mexicana did their own web site the last time I booked. So book with Orbitz if you can and save some money and let the hotel pay Orbitz. Sometimes there is justice.

Good Luck

Tim

Yeah ... we booked Casa Mexicana thru Orbitz our last trip and got a killer price. Way better than the hotel quotes ....

Blue XT~Sea have hotel/diving packages, so if you book through them you don't even have to worry about dealing with the hotel (other than checking in :D).

When I went to Coz a couple months ago, I thought I found a better deal on Orbitz or one of those places, but once I figured in all of the extra charges, it turned out that booking through BXTS was the same price (or at least within a couple of bucks). I stayed at the Bahia.

Anyhow, for me that was just one less thing I had to worry about...

HTH,

David

Unless I find the need to stay somewhere with a beach I think I will always be at Casa Mexicana. It is well worth literally a dollar or two to have Blue XT Sea set it up....and their diving ain't bad either !
