Ikelite is a a good dealer of underwater housings. You can google Ikelite to find their website and search to see if they have a housing for your camera.

Not all cameras can be housed. To see if there is one made specifically for yours,
1) try the manufacturer of the camera. many like Canon and Olympus distribute their own
2) look at B&H Camera...they carry most models and I've had great luck with them
3) Ikelite makes a lot of housings

If you mention what kind of camera it would help point you in the right direction. Some companies make housings for their own cameras like Olympus in which case you might be able to buy it at a camera store. For larger SLR cameras, you'd need to go to a specialist underwater photo/video dealer.

Yes, and no its not a stupid question. That is what most people do. Get a good camera and then use an underwater housing. There are different kinds of housings depending on what you plan to use it with. I am sure those who are more technical than me will chime in. I use the basic housing for my Canon.

I have found that Amazon.com has very competitive pricing, so that's a good place to start. Search Amazon for underwater camera housing and look for one that lists your camera as a fit.

I have a Kodak share ware. Can't find a housing. Either they don't make one or I am looking in all the wrong places. Thanks so much for all your help!

What is the model number of your camera?

Can you buy an under water case for any camera? If so, where?

You can NOT buy a housing for ANY camera.

You don't bother to say what camera you are interested in housing.

BH Photo - Huge NY shop
Reef Camera - Specialize in UW housings, especially in high end and exotic stuff.
Helix Camera - They have a LOT of UW stuff.
Adorama Photo - Another huge NY shop

The trick to putting a camera UW is not just a housing, but a system. Most UW photographers quickly realize they want a flash down there! :D Making sure you pick a camera/housing/flash system that is going to meet your needs today as well as tomorrow is somewhat key.

This is a good site for checking on housings for cameras.

Do your research before buying a camera to use underwater. Buying a camera that allows you manual control over the shutter speeds, lens openings and custom white balance is a must.
