i own a spray foam insulation business that requires a fresh air system. we use compressed air (standard air compressor) with a scrubber and carbon monixide detector to feed our mask while working(20-45psi). After a recent bout with algea in my swimming pool i was wondering if there was anyway i can also use this system with a scuba regulator? it is considered class d air, is that good enough?
thanks in advance

Sounds like you're trying to make a hookah diving system. All I know is that you should have about 50psi and a 40 micron filter and a hookah 2nd stage (for the lower psi).

Here is some info:LINK

You can but a typical second stage is adjusted for an air pressure in the 140psi range. You can have them tuned for hooka use, once set up for hooka use, you can't swap it back to scuba unless you have it adjusted back to it's original specs.
.

I can crank it up to 150 psi thou i never currently use it that high. the air supplied is considered grade d air i guess if its good enough for a supplied fresh air system it should be good enough for scooting around the pool. i think i like the hooka setup, what other setups use the umbilical setup?

Depending on the depth of your pool, you won't need that much pressure, but you need some way to connect the two systems. You'll only need about 20-30 psi.

Also, diving air is Class E. I'm not sure Class D is clean enough.

You might try the compressor forum as well: http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=566
