A STRANDED diver was airlifted from rocks by a rescue helicopter.
Coastguards were called to the aid of a 67-year-old city man stuck on the Mewstone at 1pm yesterday.
He was believed to have become separated from a group of divers.
Plymouth RNLI Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat launched following an emergency call from the boat Dawn Mist.
Crews were unable to reach the diver, who was wedged in a crevice of the Mewstone.
After around an hour and a half, he was rescued by the Rescue Helicopter from RNAS Culdrose and transferred to Derriford Hospital suffering from exhaustion and exposure.
He was not believed to be seriously injured.
