Hi,

I bought the AOI HSC-01C Manual Flash Hot Shoe to use with my INON D-200 strobes, but I'm having issues with them not firing once the housing is vacuum sealed and it goes on standby mode.

Once I vacuum seal the housing I test the strobes and they work just fine, but if I turn off the camera and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, once I start it again the strobes won't fire. The exception is when I have the camera on burst mode, but they seem to fire only once on a burst of 5-7 photos. Also, I noticed that if I release the vacuum on the housing, the trigger seems to come back from the standby mode and the strobes work again as intended.

I have the original hot shoe adapter that came with the housing, which supports RC mode, and they don't cause any of this issues when using the same INON D-200s.

The reason I bought the manual hot shoe was so it would allow me to use a shutter speed a little higher than 1/250, and provide a more consistent strength signal on manual mode.

I did try multiple flash setup ups on the camera, but none seemed to solve it. Any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is the trigger (or rather the hot shoe adapter) is getting physically squeezed. I remember the fit of the hot shoe adapter into the housing is pretty tight. I don't have a good idea of how to test this, but maybe you could measure the two adapters with calipers.

I had one that was flaky, replaced it and now it works. Mostly I use the RC version.

Also make sure that it is in the hot shoe as far as it can go. I suspect you know this but I have had dives where it wasn't in all the way so pics with only my focus light.
