I bought the Ikelite with the L20 last year. It worked great onthe reefs in the Keys. I want to use it here now, offshore Georgia.
Will the Ikelite strobe make a big difference(it sure is expensive) we dive anywhere from 60 ft. to 120 ft.
 
Yes, you will see a big difference in your pictures from the clear, shallow waters of the keys to the deeper, darker waters where you'll be diving off the Georgia coast. I'm not sure which Ikelite strobe you're refering to, but you may be able to find something a little less expensive from another manufacturer, although all strobes are somewhat expensive.

What strobe, what housing do you have? I guess that your camera is the Nikon L20 but it will be useful to know exactly how your rig is made.

I bought the one that come with the camera, as a package. the box the housing was in says 6280.21
