Hello,

I have both a G15 and RX100 and am now looking to purchase a strobe set up that would be a best match for both of these cameras.

G15 is in Canon's OEM housing and RX100 in Ikalite. I do not own any lenses for either of the cameras.

Is there a setup out there that would be easily interchangeable ? Strobe, tray arms etc ?

I was told that the INONZ240 would be a great investment but not sure about the trays, arms etc.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The Inon Z240 is an excellent strobe. However, other than a bit more power, the only thing it has over the D2000 is the optional wired link. Unless you ever plan to use wired link instead of optical link, there is no reason to go with the Z240 in my opinion. Almost all cameras including most dSLR types and almost all quality housings have provision for optical link. Optical cable link with the Inon strobes is excellent and works very well.

I see that Ikelite is introducing a neat new strobe called the Manta which seems to have many of the features the Inon D/S2000 strobes have including fiber optical cable link. Being as it is USA made (and the Inon is Japanese which/who I also like and respect) that could be a slight incentive.

Inon strobes are solid and durable, I have managed to drop test mine several times. One broken diffuser screw, other than that, no damage. They are well designed and easy to use and very flexible to accommodate nearly any lighting need.

For the RX100 get a Z240 or a Sea and Sea YS-D1. The benefit of the Inon is that it will work in eauto with the Canon camera
The Rx100 needs horse power for stills in my opinion the D/S2000 are too weak for that camera and so is the Sea and Sea YS-01

THank you everyone for all the advice. I decided to go with Z-240.

What I am looking for now is the tray+arm setup that will hold this tray and fit both of the cameras. Any advice on that ?

I was thinking of going with the Ikelite 9523.61 (tray with single handle). Can anyone confirm, whether it will fit both of my camera setups ?

Also, what arm is needed for that ? parts # or names ?

Ultimately i am looking for a set up that I could easily changed between the 2 cameras I own.

Once again, thank you in advance.
