I am getting the D200 and maybe the Ikilite housing...What strobe should I get DS-200 or DS. 125 or others!!!one or two should be mounting on the camera...
anytips would be appreciated

With an Ikelite housing, you can only get TTL with an Ikelite strobe. Therefore, I would stick with Ikelite strobes. I am a strong believer in 2 strobes for all shooting. In macro it helps eliminate shadows and for wide angle....well you need lots of light...especially with the 10.5 lens. 2 of either the DS-200 or Ds-125 will work fine. If you travel, the 125's are smaller & lighter than the 200's.

HTH,
Dave

I use two DS-125s. Lots of power and they are built like tanks...

I was told that the Ikelites are better for getting straight to modern TTL capabilities without external gadgetry, and their customer service is legendary; that said, I was also told that people tend to buy several Ikelites because they routinely fail in the field (hence the great service rep?...). (Hay, it's what the camera shop said...)

I was advised to buy Sea & Sea, which I did (YS90TTL, which can get TTL with an external controller - but NOT through the Ikelite apparently...?); I'll get back to you on the results when I get back from my Guadalupe trip if you would like...

I use Sea and Sea YS-90DX strobes now and I absolutely love them (they are discontinued and replaced with another number now). I will use them until they or I wear out, whichever comes first. I suspect the latter. I have had much experience with both Ikelite (150, 225, 50, MV) and Nikon (SB101, 102, 104, 105) strobes. I think the Ikelite strobes are excellent and agree about their service. IMHO the Ikelite weak link is their cords. Have had many failures with the cords/connectors and I always carry several spares.

I only recommended Ike strobes because you were going with the Ike housing. I traded in my Sea & Sea YS90-DX's a couple of years ago for a pair of Inon Z220's. That was a great move IMHO. I now am trading them for a pair of the new Inon Z240's. For size vs power, you can't beat an Inon (IMHO). The Z240's are on backorder though.

so maybe I will get the Sea and Sea housing....since I have heard much better reviews about it!
