hi,
I'm currently using a oly 5060wz. Has anyone used a sunpak g flash for ths camera?
Any comments for the sunpak. Is it compatible for my 5060? Is it worth buying? it sells around P 12000 ++ at PG mindoro.

I haven't used one before, but looking at the specs, it should work fine with the 5060. It appears to be capable of handling the pre-flash and is optically triggered. You may benefit from a fibre optic connection if one is available. Looking at the guide number and angle of coverage (comes with a diffuser) looks like it's got some decent power with good coverage. What I would question, though, is only using 2 AA cells whether you would get enough usage over 2 dives with it. As well, the recycle times seem to be fairly lengthy. Can't help you much on the price as I am not familiar with P 12000.

I think Sea Yoda uses a SunPak. Maybe he'll chime in soon.

Its about the same price if you buy in the US plus the shipping just make sure you get the tray and arms that come with it.

The above mentioned thread is still alive and kicking. I've used mine only a few times so take my review based on very limited experience. I like the strobe so far.

After looking at the pics on the other post and seeing some of the comments from a couple of owners, I punched up Helix and ordered one. ($179.95 + $8.90 ground UPS) Unfortunately, I won't have much to report for 3-4 weeks--BACKORDER! If it works as well as it seems to, it sure beats a clapped out ebay SB105 for the same money. (I hope).
