I've had a Nikon CoolPix 4300 for a year or so and haven't had any complaints. I guess I felt like my life just wasn't complicated enough, so I bought an Epoque ES-150 Digital Strobe AND the optional fibre optic cable.

The strobe fires every time on it's own, but rarely when I attatch the cable. Could this be a bad cable, maybe it's supposed to do that...I don't know. There were no instructions with it. Any ideas?

This will really show how dumb I am, what what are the 'GN' numbers, and how do you use them?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve

I don't have a 4300 in front of me, but you need to "force" the flash (internal) on the camera to flash every time, then the strobe should flash every time. I believe this may fix your problem, if not, let us know and we'll point you in the next direction.

Which housing are u using? If you are using the fantasea, you would need to use the velcro attachment from Epoque and attach the optic fibre cable externally to the housing right on top of the camera's strobe (probably have to trim a little). The Epoque should sync with the camera's strobe. Set the camera for the flash to always fire. Suggest u get Inon's clear photo film stickons to stick over the camera's flash to avoid unsightly shadows.
