What are the pros/cons in using a video light instead of a strobe for still pictures? I am looking for a better light source for my Canon P&S camera and the idea of a movie/video light seems appealing.

I shoot a Olympus Stylus 710 in a Ikelite housing. I have used my Darkbuster HID light as lighting and it would do in a pinch but I seemed to have a lot of shadows. My normal configuration is a Ikelite DS51 on the right, a Olympus UFL-1 on the left and a Big Blue focus light in the middle. The lighting is much more evenly dispersed with this configuration and no shadows

Strobes are the only really viable solution since they are a whole lot brighter (for a whole lot less time) than CW lighting.
