Sea and Sea YS-27DX or if you can put some extra money Sea and Sea YS-110. I'm using A570IS with dual YS-90DX currently but they don't make that anymore.

All the recomendations I see are for the Inon D2000. Seems that there are many happy campers with that one, but I've never used one myself.

Inon D2000.

The newest version of the Inon D2000 has an led focus lamp instead of the filiment type mine has---darn that---lol. There is also a new mini strobe with similar features to the D2000 but smaller and perhaps less money, should be out soon.

Just amazes me that a $200 (or even less) camera ends up with a $500 strobe!

It's like driving down the freeway and seeing a $500 car with a $2k set of wheels.

Strobes have always been as much or more than the camera unless you go with an slr. The strobe for my Nikonos was twice the price of the camera. Nothing new there. It is the total cost of the system, if it works then it works. The little 570IS is an amazing little camera for the paltry price. You could spend four times more and not do as well.

570IS --150 dollars
Ike housing--250 dollars
Canon DC 12 housing--- 150 dollars
Inon 165 AD FE--350 dollars
Inon D2000 strobe---540 dollars
Inon AD adapter for DC-12--50 dollars
Inon grip for DC12--90(?) dollars
Sekonic Marine meter---50 to 100 dollars
Assorted bits and pieces 100 to 200 dollars
