DAN Alert magazine had an article a while back that said not to take a hot shower afterward. I thought that was strange because I'm quite often freezing when I make it back. Is this the same reasoning? The article never really stated why.

Just to give everyone an idea of the dive sites we dive here in SoCAl, here are some picures. Note, we normally gear up at the car and walk down, making one trip down and up with everything.

So we surface and float for a bit and slowly kick in, since there is no good place to sit (bottom of cliff is often in surf zone at high tide) we get out of the water and start up the hill. We also try to stay in shape. If you aren't when you start beach diving here, you soon will be.

Flat rock, cliff is 160 feet and is located in the center of the photo on the finger sticking out into the ocean Vertical drop on one side, not much better on the other and real steep as in reach out straight in front of you and touch ground. http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/image.cgi?image=4384&mode=sequential&flags=0&year=2002

Christmass Tree Cove the trail is on the left next to the red tile roof: http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/image.cgi?image=8375&mode=sequential&flags=0&year=2002

Malaga Cove, one of the eaiser ones, with a steep paved road (in shadow) for part of the way. http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/image.cgi?image=4371&mode=sequential&flags=0&year=2002

Long Point (old Marine Land) is also one of the easier sites. We dive at the point on the left in the photo: http://www.californiacoastline.org/cgi-bin/image.cgi?image=8387&mode=sequential&flags=0&year=2002

Laguna Beach offers a rare treat, stairs, lots of them!
