Strange question about gloves?

I would imagine you could scuff the surface with a low grit sandpaper, no?

It would still peel off with the underside being an even match to all the scuff marks. And once you expand the rubber it will break the seal. Just leaving your flashlight in the sun or car can be enough overtime to break the seal.
I've tried on several things already to no long term success. Spring strap heels, Oniell's surf gloves etc.
 
I haven't had that exact problem, but one quick and easy temp fix would be to wrap a few rubber bands around the grip of the light. Gives you something "sticky" to grip, but doesn't permanently alter the gloves or the light. Just make sure they are newer (old ones can break, especially in the cold) and tightly wrapped so you don't lose them in the water.
