This will be our second annual photo contest. Last years contest resulted in a fantastic calendar for 2015. We've altered the rules just a little from last year. Spread the word and I hope to see some entries from scubaboard.
What: A photo contest, with twelve photos to be chosen and used in the 2016 Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve calendar. Submitted photos should represent the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve and/or the Straits area. The "photo contest" calendars will be available for sale to the public in May 2015.
Why: To support the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve fulfill its mission (see mission statement below). Each winner will receive a free 2016 Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve calendar with their picture in it!
When: Photos can be submitted starting July 2014. End submission date Jan 31, 2015. Winners will be chosen by Feb 28, 2015.
How: Submit your highest resolution, unwatermarked jpeg images to dsc2679@gmail.com. Limit three photos per photographer please. A maximum of two photos per wreck or subject, e.g., the bridge or lighthouse, will be chosen to encourage diversity. Horizontal oriented or "landscape" oriented photos are favored, as they work better with the calendars. That said, vertical or "portrait" oriented photos are certainly welcome too. We are unable to alter or photoshop your photos, so please complete this before submitting your photos, if needed. The photographers name will be listed with each photo and all submitted photos will be considered the property of the photographer, and won't be used without their permission.
