just got one and they are awesome, a bit on the loud side, i actually got to use em last weekend. did a minor drift dive and the boat wasnt where we agreed it to be say 300 yards away. no sweat the whistle clearly reached their ears, i recommend them to every one!

I had one hooked on the inflator of my BCD. Much louder than those claimed for scuba diving in particular.

they do indeed but its kinda hard to master switching from mouthpiece to whistle, its certainly works tho

I did and my buddy could only hear if they wre ridiculously close. Maybe I lack the neccssary wind...

You've got to blow real hard but they do work. You're right though, they aren't as loud underwater.
