I am planning a long boat trip that may last several weeks. I am planning to rent my house for these months, so that I can earn a little extra income as well as in a hope that the house will be well maintained. I am thinking about using a self storage facility like Jiffy Storage in Toronto, or keeping a room out of a rental. Second one is of no expense, but I feel a little less secure to keep items with strangers than in a professional facility. I haven’t used a self storage facility before and is looking for some helpful advice on the matter.

Me? I'd get me a Rottweiler and bury it in the back yard.

Not bury the Rottweiler, the stuff. Then I'd tie the Rotty to a tree right there.

That's what I'd do.

If your "valuables" are your used SCUBA gear, I wouldn't worry about it, used SCUBA gear is worth about five cents on a dollar. Your renter won't steal it.

Your Hummel Collection of Famous Clowns is a different matter.

Well!! They sound great but I'm going to need that but here in Calgary. So if I'm not really imposing, may I tag along in this thread?
