well, let's see.. I snorkelled in Key West amongst the jellyfish with a friend and thought I was shark bait. We then went to cancun and whilst on the beach, watched a guy crawl up on the beach covered head to toe with coralcuts from being swept over the reef while snorkelling. end of my snorkelling career - I thought to heck with that. I'ld rather be underwater, but I couldn't hold my breath that long so freediving was out. The minute I got back home MI (home at the time) I walked in the local dive shop and said teach me to dive! That guy was the decision maker for me. Who says I can't learn from vicarious experience?!

Years ago my brother and I worked with a fellow who could never remember my name. My brother used to mess with his head by calling me all sorts of different names -- Derwood, Dagwood, Darwood, Dilbert... A new one every time.

Since my brother was my diving instructor, this is my way of saying hello. (I don't know if he's figured it out yet... )
