Just to be clear, this is Stillwater Cove on the North Coast, not Monterey County.

Is there a stillwater in Monterey too?
Yup. Near the Pebble Beach golf course. It's a good place to duck into when the swells are really high. You can also shore dive it, but you need to call to make reservations, IIRC, and there's a limit to the number of reservations or parking or something.
