I bought a pair of Akona gloves. They have Kevlar palms. They are very stiff. The dive shop owner says they will soften up in the water. Is this true? If not they may be too stiff for me.

I dive with Akona Kevlar, entire glove, while spearfishing. They do soften up with use. Suggest you throw them in the washing machine several times after diving, which will speed the process.

Is that a good way to soften up any new dive glove especially the heavier ones or is that specific to the Akona Kevlar? I am guessing good for any wet glove but thought I would check first. I have a 5mm and a 7mm that I do not use much that could use softening.
