I am rebuilding my database of articles for my DiveMaster work (lost most due to hard drive crash and no backup). Sometime in the past couple of years or so there was a sticky article that an instructor had written on how he dealt with mask clearing problems. I have a friend that took and intro course in the Phillipines and basically panicked and is having some troubles now. I would like to locate this or other articles to send to him for his help. I have told him to practice flooding his mask and clearing and also to practice breathing with no mask on in the shallow end of the pool.
Any help appreciated.

Was it Walter's method, perhaps? It's been posted and reposted numerous times, so I just linked to one from 2000.

That was it. Thanks. I thought it was Walter's but was unsure. I told him to do these things already but seeing it in writing will help.
He was doing an introductory class in the Phillipines and the instructor took him down to 20 feet after doing a bunch of stuff in a pool. The instructor surprised him by feeding the fish some bread and the rush of so many fish around him and a little leakage caused him to panic. He had a near drowning experience when he was about 8 years old and said that night he had a dream about it. He is going to practice these ideas and take it slowly. He is moving to the Phillipines for retirement and wants to be certified.
