Just posting a message received from Capt. Heather Knowles. She sits on the Stellwagen Bank Sanctuary Advisory Council.
Hello All -
We have received word from NOAA that the Stellwagen Bank NMS draft management plan will be released to the Sanctuary Advisory Council (SAC) - and subsequently to the public - on MAY 6, 2008.This will mark the beginning of the 90 day public commenting period. NOW is the time to get organized, and poised to comment. During this time you will be able to write NOAA, further utilize the Shipwreck Divers online petition, as well as speak at the public commenting forums when scheduled.? We need the dive community's full support on this. Even if you do not live in New England, changes here may eventually affect you by way of management changes in the NOAA sanctuaries proximate to you. We've made real progress thus far, let's keep it up.
