I have been in about every LDS here on Oahu the past four years. I pretty much appreciate most places / operators for one thing or another. For some reason, I have never crossed paths with Dive Oahu. WELL, my three experiences with them have left me with a very positive feeling.

Gear sale--I got a very good price. They carry Scubapro and Zeagle.

Eddie really knows the product and gave a very thorough "in-sevice" with lots of pointers. He whipped out a folding bench, some organized tools and assembled everything in a way that inspires confidence. Extremely pleasant and helpful. We were apologetic because it was the wrong time to be asking for favors--early before am charters and we were diving with someone else, trying to make a boat. Everything with Brian and Eddie has always been "no problem!".

Once over a holiday weekend, there were no tanks to be had "morning of" and I had out of town guests. Brian's shop was not open yet, and he made a phone call, had another operator unlock and give me the tanks. He had never met me, did not know me. They are three out of three, positive as it comes, with me. Just want to pass this along. Very refreshing.

I shall check them out!

Tim, I guess you are a minister so I am addressing this to you. Your one little positive comment really lifted me up today.

I have noticed a couple things in Scubaworld, here on Oahu, over the past four years.

The business is very tough. The profit margin is pretty small. People are stressed trying to make a living. We all love diving. We have more in common than differences. I really believe that if everyone in the dive community made the effort to pat each other (even the competition) on the back for working hard and trying to do the job well (even within human limitations), that we would have such a better day- to -day experience. From now on, I plan to try and really see the positive things going on all around us. I hope you all do not think I sound like a cornball, but If we couch our critiques (a legitimate and useful exercise) in a helpful compassionate way, this dive community could be even better. Thanks for your encouragement Tim. You never know when you say some small, kind thing how much it can effect someone.

I have dove with Dive Oahu a couple of times, all good experiences. Boat dives are a bit pricey but Eddie really does know his stuff and have dove with him a couple times though it has been awhile. Eddie is the one that got me hooked on north shore diving.

I totally agree with Catherine, there is so much scuba drama out there, it is very nice to find a good shop with helpfull staff. The retail side of Scuba is so limited here, it is refreshing to find an outfit that actually cares about customer service instead of just screwing us every time. Thank you Catherine for the info.
