Tonight I start my NAUI certification course, super excited about it. I was told that on Tuesday its the classroom work and we dont get into the pool until Thursday. Ill keep you all updated throughout the course!!!!:D

Welcome to the wonderful addiction of diving. the first "hit" is on us, the rest you will have to pay for. :D

I am sure you will have a great time, I just had my first class last night. We met at the dive shop and were issued all our gear then had a classroom session going over the gear and equipment setup. We then spent about 2 hours in the shallow end of the pool (4 feet), where we just floated off the bottom and practiced mask clearing and regulator removal drills. My certification is through SDI.

Great! Have fun with it...

Your life will never be the same!

For the first class we went over and talked about all the gear. Thursday we get into the pool for the first time but its just free diving/snorkeling and basic swimming. We dont get into the pool with gear until next Thursday.

Good Luck with you classes. If you think they're fun, wait till you hit the open water!

Had our first pool session last night, no scuba gear on though. We did our 250 yard swim, treaded water for 10 minutes then we got on the mask, fins and snorkel and did some underwater stuff. I had a very hard time trying to equalize my ears for this part, I asked the instructor about this and she said for alot of people its very hard to equalize while snorkeling, buts its easy when scuba diving. Next Thursday is when we actually get in the pool with scuba gear, cant wait!!!!!!!

Congratulations on a giant stride into the world of diving! I remember my first OW course like it was yesterday (it was actually about 3 years ago). I was excited, nervous and filled with anticipation the entire time. I love diving. I just wish I had done it about 25 years ago! So many reefs, so little time!

Enjoy! :D
