1. I have heard that Alan Raabe has not been on the Star Dancer quite a bit of late. Any experience with the folks currently running the boat?

2. Also looking at spending a couple of days at Walindi. I understand there is no A/C and that they turn off the power - so fans stop - in the evening. Still true?

Let me proceed by saying I can only answer that from last summer.

1. Alan Raabe was not the captain on our trip. We has a local whose name escapes me. We had a great trip.

2. There was no A/C in the huts, but I felt very comfortable with the a breeze coming across the ocean and the fans were not needed. This was in July timeframe, so it was summer. I'm not sure if they turned off the fans in the evening, I never noticed.
We stayed at Walindi one night before Star Dancer and two nights after we arrived back.

The power is switched off at night but from 11pm to 6am. So unless you plan on being awake all night . . .

The rooms have batteries in them which run the fan, fridge and have a couple of lights so you can see if you have to get up late. The buildings are designed for hot conditions so yes it is comfortable at night

Alan stills spends much of his time on his beloved FeBrina. He told me he would be doing more on the 'Dancer, but it is like prying an abalone off a rock! Believe me, Alan would only have an excellent captain on the 'Dancer, so rest at ease.
